The public is invited to a night of illusions and live demonstrations at the the 48th European Conference on Visual Perception, which will take place in Bournemouth, UK. We will be providing people with short guided experiences of hallucination-inducing stroboscopic light.

Attendees of Mo:Dem will be able to take part in my research at the Cyberdelic Nexus showcase and hear my talk: “We trained over 100 people to draw their hallucinations. Let’s talk about what they saw.”

The public was invited to take part in a large scale experiment into visual experiences, “The Vision Experiment”. Nearly 100 participants took part over the course of two weekends. Data is currently being analysed.

At the 2025 ASSC (Association for the Scientific Study of Consciousness) annual meeting, where I presented preliminary findings from my experiments in which participants were trained to recreate images of their visual hallucinations.

At the 2025 BNS (British Neuroscience Society) meeting, I presented a talk introducing the 6-Dimensional Visual Hallucination Questionnaire (6D-VHQ) which has recently been developed and validated in collaboration with my colleagues at Sussex.

At the 2024 SCCS Annual Event, I showcased a demo of the Perception Census and presented a poster on the historical use of stroboscopic light to induce hallucinations.

As part of the 2024 Festival of Doctoral Research, I gave a career talk discussing navigating careers across both scientific and artistic disciplines and spoke on the careers panel

At the 2024 SSSL (Sussex Symposium on Stroboscopic Light), I presented an analysis of the hallucinatory experiences of attendees of the Dreamachine.

As part of the 2023 BNA’s public outreach program, I gave a public talk on the science of altered states of consciousness hosted by Prof. Anil Seth.

From the Leverhulme Trust and Sussex Humanities series on embodiment and perception, I gave a public talk on what research into visual hallucinations can reveal about the brain.
